Transportation

For seniors, a lack of transportaion options can pose serious health concerns. The resulting isolation has been associated with depression, anxiety, and a lesser view of self. Other than relying on loved ones or neighbors, the options are few and can be prohibitively expensive.   

Luckily, there are options within the Memphis Jewish community. 

Shalom Shuttle- Door-to-door transportation service for seniors, to grocery stores, medical appointments, hair salon, etc. $4 per ride, Monday through Friday. FJFS at the MJCC 901-767-8511. 

Senior Transportation- Door-to-door transportation service to and from the MJCC for hot meals and senior activities. $2 round trip, Tuesday through Thursday. MJCC, 901-761-0810.
